Business Development Manager – Sports ID

Designs have recently celebrated 25 years of trading and has specialised in the sports market for over 10 years, providing signage solutions to large scale sporting clubs for both event and stadium branding.

In addition, they supply and install signage and graphics for stand re-brands, hospitality areas, concourses, changing rooms, office, perimeter boards, tunnels and retail areas.

Designs have worked with well-established sports clubs supplying reactive services in football, rugby, snooker, cricket and darts, to name just a few.

They have completed some exciting projects with very prestigious brands such as Premier League football clubs, and more locally Hull City.

After gaining several high profiles contracts such as The KC Stadium, they expanded their facility which saw a move to the current premises on Innovation Drive.

Their mission, as a business, is to ensure their quality of service standards are exceptional, continuously invest in technology and have an inspired and creative team who are passionate about what they are trying to achieve.

Designs are now looking to bring in a Business Development Manager to join the business at this very exciting time.

The Opportunity: Business Development Manager

The Group started in 1993 as a sole trader with Rob Daysley their Managing Director “going it on his own” after completing an apprenticeship. Rob provided a ticket writing service for a national DIY chain, originally working remotely from his car providing an onsite service.  In 1996 investment was made into vinyl cutting equipment allowing and their first unit location was then established.

The Group are continuously growing as a business and as such are now looking to bring in a Business Development Manager to join the sports side of the business.

Your duties:

  • Traveling throughout the UK on a regular basis to various sporting venues
  • Developing and managing existing relationships with clients on a national scale specifically in the sports sector
  • Managing sales enquiries
  • Develop new business opportunities through various methods such as meetings, networking and gaining referrals
  • Negotiating prices and terms with high level stakeholders
  • Being customer focused, naturally positive with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Having a can do attitude and being able to work on your own for prolonged period
  • Creating long term relationships rather than transactional relationships
  • Working with the Managing Director to develop and deliver the strategy to deliver financial growth

Your experience:

The ideal candidate will have a track record in sales and or account management, a passion for sport, determination and the ability to build strong relationships. It could be that you are looking for your next challenge or you are passionate about getting in to the sport or sales sectors.
