In 2015 Groupe Atlantic acquired Hull based Ideal Heating, recognising the quality of their products and their place not only in the UK market but also in the European market.  Since then, there has been significant investment in the Hull site to enable an increase in production capacity; they have expanded the R&D facilities and modernised and improved manufacturing techniques.

The Opportunity: Development Engineer

Ideal Heating based in the city of Hull are seeking to appoint a Development Engineer to join their growing R&D Department. Based at their R&D Centre of Excellence the Development Engineer will work on NPI & continuous improvement projects to deliver market leading products. The Development Engineer will work as part of a multi-discipline team and report to the Development Manager.

The Development Engineer will also be responsible for:

  • Contributing to continuous improvement, ensuring ongoing review of technology, processes, and outcomes
  • Applying theoretical and practical approach to engineering problem solving & solution evaluation
  • Working with third party expertise to meet NPI & CIP activities
  • Participate in specified research, design & development activities
  • Completing activities in full, to time and cost to meet programme requirements

To be successful in the role of Development Engineer you will have:

  • Experience in fossil fuel combustion
  • The ability to critical analyse problems
  • A solid background in product development and innovation
  • Experience of setting up and operating testing rigs
  • relevant qualifications, preferably HNC/HND or degree qualified
  • Knowledge of refrigeration is preferably
  • The ability to communicate and build relationships with both internal and external teams
  • Excellent relationship building skills, and a can-do attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
