The Opportunity: Senior/Development Engineer

Groupe Atlantic based in the city of Hull are seeking to appoint a Senior/Development Engineer to join their growing R&D Department. Based at their R&D Centre of Excellence the Development Engineer will work on NPI & continuous improvement projects to deliver market leading products. The Senior/Development Engineer will work as part of a multi-discipline team and report to the Development Manager.

The Senior/Development Engineer will also be responsible for:

Contributing to continuous improvement, ensuring ongoing review of technology, processes, and outcomes
Working with gas, hydraulic & refrigeration circuits.
Environmental impacts and specification of thermodynamic loads.
Improving knowledge from in-field application of low carbon products.
Applying theoretical and practical approach to engineering problem solving & solution evaluation
Working with third party expertise to meet NPI & CIP activities
Participate in specified research, design & development activities
Completing activities in full, to time and cost to meet programme requirements

To be successful in the role of Senior/Development Engineer you will have:

Experience with gas combustion is desirable
The ability to critical analyse problems
Experience with refrigeration, HVAC or Heat Pumps is desirable
A solid background in product development and innovation
A solid understanding of thermodynamics
Experience of setting up and operating testing rigs
Relevant qualifications with Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, preferably degree qualified
The ability to communicate and build relationships with both internal and external teams
Excellent relationship building skills, and a can-do attitude
Excellent communication skills
