An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a well established manufacturing and engineering company based in West Hull. After continued growth they are looking to hire an Account Handler to come in and look after their customers, manage their expectations and deliver a premium service.

Opportunity

As the Account Handler, you will report to The Inside Sales manager and be responsible for:

  • Provide customer support, to both internal and external customers. Build excellent customer relationships by developing an understanding of their needs and aim to exceed customer expectations.
  • Understand the department and job workflow instructions and follow these to ensure the smooth running of the department.  Make recommendations for improvements to workflows when appropriate and necessary
  • Be responsible for accurately loading orders onto their system working with Engineering and internal stakeholders to ensure orders are loaded as quickly and accurately as possible and acknowledging the customer orders accordingly.
  • Coordinate all orders allocated, this will include a large quantity of smaller orders or larger Project deliveries globally. Reviewing and understanding of the Contract Review process
  • Close liaison with the Sales, Engineering, Technical, Purchasing, Production, Quality and Logistic Teams to ensure that with all loaded orders, contractual delivery & scope is fully defined, understood and cascaded within the business to the respective departments at the right time
  • Working with the Inside Sales Team, International Sales Managers and Customers to ensure all contractual milestones are achieved on time and all risks to the business are highlighted at any contract review meetings and mitigated.  Meeting actions are documented and closed out at future project review meetings.
  • Cover for other sales team members during busy periods or absences.
  • Maintain all customer communications throughout the order cycle from acknowledgement, planning, production, quality and logistics. Work closely with other team members to ensure customer visits, customer inspections are well planned and executed in a timely manner.
  • Work with all other teams in the business to ensure order backlog is kept to a minimum, with a focus on On-Time Delivery and Right First Time.
  • Highlighting any changes to requested order quantities, materials or delivery dates to the relevant teams to ensure the business is aware of any changes if agreed.  Ensure any order changes are costed and reflected to the customer to highlight the financial implications of the amendment.
  • Ensure that during the order cycle, a close and positive relationship is maintained with the Engineering & planning and production team.
  • Work with the Inside Sales team to provide support in terms of logging, answering and quoting simple enquiries.  Understanding of enquiry to quote, and quote to order process and costing of product for quotation purposes.
  • Prepare for and interact in all team meetings contributing with ideas and initiatives as well as planning, organising and executing meetings with customers throughout the order cycle where required.
  • To undertake other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time.
  • Comply with the requirements of the Quality Management system and Company’s health and safety protocols in place.

Person

To be the successful Account Handler, you must have;

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills  
  • Have a can do attitude and the ability to problem solve
  • Experience working in an environment where you are dealing with customers as part of a service and have had to push back and objection handle
  • Experience in following processes and having to work with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Manufacturing experience would be advantageous but not essential
  • Experience of using a CMS, CRM and Microsoft packages would be advantageous
