Summerbridge are a privately owned, leading specialist manufacturer of kitchen, bedroom and bathroom furniture employing over 70 full time employees.

With an 80,000 sqft modern production facility based in Hull, the company supplies a range of furniture products to the UK leisure, trade, retail and contract furniture markets.

With the strength of the staycation market and the fact Summerbridge are an established business, demand for their quality, sustainable products are high.

The company is going through a period of growth and is seeking an experienced, hands on Production Manager to compliment the experienced Senior Management team, who can drive output and develop improvement and quality processes as the company gears up for growth.

The Opportunity: Production Manager

Salary: DOE

As Production Manager working days, you will manage resources to deliver the production plan on time, with specific focus on product quality, output, people and improvement, ensuring the business exceeds it's objectives whilst providing excellent customer service.

This role represents a great opportunity for an experienced production / manufacturing professional who is hands on and really wants to make a difference during an exciting period of growth.

Reporting to the Operations Manager with 6 direct reports and 70+ production staff, you will be responsible for the following:

Production and capacity planning ensuring machinery, plant and resources are available to meet production demand
Management of budgets for labour and maintenance circa £1m
Engagement, performance management and development of all production staff
Ensuring quality standards, production systems and processes are met and always maintained
Health, Safety & Environment management, and reporting
Monitor and drive improvements across production, process, quality, and maintenance seeking opportunities for cost reduction
Support the introduction of new products, raw materials, and stock cost reduction initiatives

The Right Person For The Role has:

An experienced hands-on production / manufacturing professional
Ability to effectively manage, motivate, organise, and lead production teams
Understanding of good manufacturing principles
Previous cost control / P&L accountability
A can-do positive attitude, who can implement change
