Located in a purpose built, modern office within East Yorkshire on the outskirts of Hull, The One Point have several complimentary sister companies, in addition to their own charitable foundation, supporting great causes.

Due to continued growth and expansion of contracts they are seeking to compliment the existing senior management team with this strategic appointment.

Joining The One Point Senior Leadership Team,  the Head of Technical Services will be responsible for the technical and operational delivery of IT Support, Infrastructure and Telecommunication services to our customers.

Managing, coaching and developing the support desk teams whilst championing change and process improvement will be key along with ensuing outstanding customer service is achieved.

The Opportunity

Head of Technical Services
(£50,000 - £80,000 package DOE)

The main roles and responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Team Leadership - Oversight and ongoing performance improvement of the Service Desk, Engineering and Provisioning teams and effectively managing the people and the departmental priorities

  • Process enhancement – Develop and implement policies and procedures and ensure SLAs and KPIs are met and reported upon

  • Knowledge sharing - Coaching, training and sharing knowledge and experience on leadership and technical skills

  • Problem-solving - Acting as a point of escalation and technical authority, especially when it comes to addressing issues with software, hardware, servers and networking

  • Championing change – Taking ownership of proactive technical projects to improve internal infrastructure and maintain customer systems

  • Communication – Strong written and verbal communications skills are essential, being able to communicate with team members, senior leadership, and end users throughout the organization

  • Enabling Sales - Working closely with Sales to facilitate technical customer account reviews and help tender for new business

The Right Person

An experienced and dynamic leader of people with an excellent technical pedigree is a must.  Experience of working within a medium to large MPS or similar environment with good computing fundamentals and experience in the following areas is required;

  • Networking and hardware
  • Operating Systems and Software
  • Cyber Security
  • Cloud Computing
